Newspapers can hold a wealth of information about members of your family tree and really bring your family story to life. I found an article about my husband’s great-grandfather who was hit by a train and lived to tell about it!
“TRUCK DRIVER IS HURT WHEN STRUCK BY FREIGHT TRAIN
Howard Lockwood…had a narrow escape from serious injury at 6:15 Wednesday morning when the county truck he was driving…was struck by a westbound North Western freight train and thrown into the ditach. Lockwood suffered lacerations of the face and bruises and went to a physician for treatment. The truck was badly damaged.”
