Grand Prix of Europe Marks Europa Park Cinema Debut - The Global Tofay Global Today

A Europa Park cinema debut as world-renowned theme park Europa Park is set to release its first-ever movie with Warner Bros acting as distributor.

Known for its in-house animation department which brings characters to life within its theme park Europa Park is set to release Grand Prix of Europe in summer 2025.

The movie is a fast-paced and heart-warming animated adventure featuring Ed and Edda, the popular Europa-Park characters.

Ed & Edda together with their friends are taking the cinema screen by storm, just in time for Europa-Park’s 50th birthday. The co-production by MACK Magic and Warner Bros. Discovery, written by Kirstie Falkous, John Reynolds and Jeff Hylton, among others, is set to delight cinema audiences in 2025, featuring lovable characters, a captivating story, and plenty of action and humour. 

Edda

The mouse Edda, daughter of the fairground operator Erwin, wants to become a racing driver. As the 50th race of the European GRAND PRIX begins, she seizes the unique opportunity to meet her idol, racing driver Ed, and save her father’s ailing business at the same time. However, to do all this, she will have to get into the cockpit herself … 

The film was announced at a recent MACK One Keynote speech which you can check out on the theme park’s free streaming platform VeeJoy. 

Moderator Steven Gätjen spoke to Michael Mack, Managing Partner of Europa-Park and founder & CEO of MACK One, about his vision of using the technology of tomorrow to create big emotions as an ‘Emotioneer’, and about the next important step in the company’s history, due in 2025: the first feature film with Ed & Edda.

The film is being produced by Michael Mack, Managing Partner of Europa-Park and founder of the entertainment company MACK Magic, and is currently in production at the MACK Animation studios in Hanover, one of the leading animation studios in Europe, responsible for the box office hits ‘Animals United’ and the ‘Happy Family’ franchise, among others. The film is being directed by Waldemar Fast, who has worked as a director and animator in the animation industry for more than 20 years and has been involved in numerous successful productions.

The Europa park cinema production is taking place in Rust and Hanover. Warner Bros. Discovery is distributing the film in Germany, Austria and German-speaking parts of Switzerland.
