Happy Gilmore 2 Adds Bad Bunny to Cast of Adam Sandler Sequel The Global Tofay Global Today

Bad Bunny has joined the cast of Happy Gilmore 2.

Happy Gilmore 2 is the forthcoming sequel to the 1996 comedy film directed by Dennis Dugan. Adam Sandler is reprising his role in the new Netflix movie, while Kyle Newacheck is directing.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Benito Martínez Ocasio, also known as Bad Bunny, has joined the cast of Happy Gilmore 2. It is currently unclear who he is playing.

Bad Bunny made a brief appearance in 2021’s F9 before he then had a larger role in 2022’s Bullet Train, which was directed by David Leitch. He then had a role in 2023’s Cassandro and was recently cast in David Aronofsky’s Caught Stealing, which does not yet have a release date. He was supposed to lead an El Muerto film, which would have been set in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe; however, the movie was removed from Sony’s release calendar in 2023.

What else do we know about Happy Gilmore 2?

Along with Sandler, Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald are returning for Happy Gilmore 2, which just started production. The script was written by Sandler and Herlihy, both of whom also serve as producers. Dugan serves as an executive producer alongside Judit Maull, Kevin Grady, David Bausch, and Barry Bernardi.

NFL star Travis Kelce and filmmaker Benny Safdie will additionally be in the movie in some capacity.

Plot details remain under wraps at this time.

A release date for Happy Gilmore 2 has not yet been announced by Netflix. The original Happy Gilmore movie is currently streaming on Peacock.
