2021 Reflections: Accomplishments and Growth - The Global Tofay Global Today

  • My research on Hilaria Baldwin’s maternal ancestry made international news after it was published at the Daily Mail. Seeing my name on Perez Hilton was definitely not on my bingo card for 2021.

  • I appeared as a guest twice on Boston 25 News, once to discuss the Hilaria Baldwin story, the other to talk about my experience with MyHeritage’s new animation feature.

  • I presented 10 times, including at two virtual conferences (New England Regional Genealogical Consortium and IAJGS International Conference on Jewish Genealogy).

  • I completed the ProGen 50 study group, where I was a chat day co-leader.

  • I completed the course Mother Russia: Research in the Countries of the Former Russian Empire and USSR at Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy (SLIG), which finally pushed me to learn how to read Cyrillic.

  • I completed the course Fundamentals of Forensic Genealogy at SLIG Academy.

  • I completed the course Beyond the Golden Door: Immigrants to the United States of America After 1890 at the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIP).

  • I completed the course DNA as Genealogical Evidence (Advanced) at the Institute for Genealogy and Historical Research (IGHR).

  • I served as a member of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Boston (JGSGB) Program Committee.

  • I reached over 7000 followers on Instagram.

  • I helped several clients meet their research goals and locate their biological families.

  • I obtained several new records (especially Lithuania internal passports!), added new branches to my family, met new relatives, and located lost photos of family members.
